Today our students and staff discussed the Stolen Generations as Saturday 13th February is a significant day. It marks the anniversary of the Apology to Australia’s Indigenous Peoples for past laws and practices that had a negative impact on Australia’s First Nations Peoples, particularly the Stolen Generation. It encourages us to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, strive for their empowerment and show respect for their cultures. The 4/5/6 class explored an experience of the Stolen Generations through the picture books, Stolen Girl.
