Welcome to the K/1 class page for 2025.
Welcome back to Term 3. We are continuing to learn how to use the Soundwaves code to read, write, talk and understand. We were inspired by our mentor text, 'Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley' to be "as warm as toast". In Mathematics we have been investigating how we can make, find and continue patterns. In Health we have been focusing on Child Protection and learning about respectful relationships, who we can trust and identifying the people who keep us safe.
Wow, the school term is flying by! It’s amazing to see how much the K/1 kids have grown and learned this term.
Everyone really enjoyed the focus texts for Weeks 3 and 4. It gave us an opportunity to learn about prepositions as well as time as measured by family life and on a farm.
In PE and Sport we have been practising our skills for the Athletics Carnival. From sprinting, to learning how to throw a discus, everyone has shown a growth mindset.
Welcome back to Term 2. We are all very excited in K/1 by the book we are reading, " The March of the Ants". It has been a lot of fun learning through the book by making ants, drawing ants, writing about ants, counting ants, and so much more!
K/1 have been discussing about the important role of good listening in being a successful learner. We cannot wait to share a fun, old song about ears at the upcoming assembly.
