Welcome to the 4/5/6 class page for 2024.
What a brilliant start to the year. 4/5/6 have been busy studying Tim Winton's novel, Blueback. We have been creating out own Blueback through the use of foil, string, glue and sharpies. These are going to be displayed in the Macksville Show.
Literacy mornings in the 4/5/6 class are busy. Miss O'Toole introduced us to Bananagrams. We have to make as many words as possible from the 21 tiles we collect... just quietly, we are getting pretty good!
Mathematics has been all about Place Value. We have been playing a game where we get given a number (we don't know the number) and we move around the room asking our peers mathematical questions to try and work out what our number is.
Art! We are exploring the theme, identity. We began by looking at abstracts artists, Kandinsky and Picasso and how their use of colour creates emotion. We are experimenting with colours to create an artwork that will show parts of our identity.
